The Cluny House was designed to demonstrate that technology, planning and design can be perfectly combined in order to provide a comfortable, sustainable private residence. The house was equipped with eco-friendly technologies, such as photovoltaic cells and solar water heaters, helping to preserve the environment. Passive cooling and cross ventilation are also installed to reduce energy consumption. The house is also complemented with roof gardens and irrigation tanks that help collecting and recycling rainwater. As an addition, recycled teak and artificial timbers are used as the main materials in order to save the surrounding environment and also provide an optimum comfort and warmth to the whole house. As you can see from the pictures gallery, a water court becomes the center piece of the building and lots of vegetation is planted around the house. Designed with an open space concept and lushly planted roof garden, this tropical family residence is blended with the surrounding very well. Though the house may use advance technology, such as EIB systems, photovoltaic cells, security systems but it could work well with the natural environment.
